What we do
TalkSV explains the practical side of betting online in the UK: how licensing works, how to read odds and margins, what payment methods to expect, how offers are structured and which safer gambling tools every licensed site must provide. Our aim is to help adults make informed decisions, not to persuade anyone to bet.
We do not take bets, we do not rank operators, and we do not publish top lists or affiliate links. Nobody pays us to feature, recommend or mention a betting site. That independence is the reason the site exists.

How we research and update content
We base our guides on primary sources wherever possible: Gambling Commission publications, government announcements and the published terms of licensed operators. Figures such as withdrawal times are presented as typical ranges because they vary between sites and change over time.
Every page that touches on regulation is reviewed by Margaret before publication, and each page shows the date it was last updated. When rules change, such as the January 2026 promotions reforms, we revise the affected pages.
How we stay independent
We fund the site ourselves and do not accept sponsored articles, paid placements or free accounts from operators. Where we describe how a type of offer or payment method works, we use generic examples rather than naming brands, so there is no incentive to favour anyone.
